MAAX began its operations in 1970 as a manufacturer of fibreglass snowmobile parts. In 1973, the founder and current president of MAAX, Placide Poulin, successfully diversified the Company into the production of fibreglass bathtubs and showers. Seven years later, Modern Fibreglass Inc. decided to devote itself exclusively to the manufacture of bathroom products.
